Qi4D Driver: Features, Specs, Technology and Buying Guide

The Qi4D Driver is one of TaylorMade’s latest golf drivers, introduced as part of the company’s 2026 Qi4D family. Designed for golfers who want a combination of speed, forgiveness, adjustability, and consistent ball flight, the Qi4D Driver uses aerodynamic shaping, a redesigned face, lightweight construction, and an adjustable weighting system.

TaylorMade launched the Qi4D family in January 2026, with four main models: the Qi4D Driver, Qi4D LS Driver, Qi4D Max Driver, and Qi4D Max Lite Driver. The standard Qi4D sits between the low-spin LS model and the more forgiving Max models, making it an interesting option for golfers who want both distance and customization.

What Is the Qi4D Driver?

The Qi4D Driver is a 460cc driver developed by TaylorMade for golfers looking for a balance between speed and forgiveness. Its head has been redesigned using aerodynamic principles intended to reduce drag and help golfers generate more clubhead speed.

According to TaylorMade, the driver was developed through extensive simulations and testing focused on head shape, face performance, weight distribution, and fitting options. The result is a modern driver designed to provide speed while maintaining stability on less-than-perfect strikes.

The standard Qi4D Driver has a mid-to-high launch profile and mid-low spin characteristics. It is available in several loft configurations, allowing golfers to select a setup that better matches their swing speed, launch conditions, and preferred ball flight.

Qi4D Driver Key Features

One of the main attractions of the Qi4D Driver is the combination of several technologies rather than relying on a single design feature. TaylorMade has incorporated aerodynamic shaping, carbon construction, face technology, adjustable weights, and a loft sleeve into the club.

The driver uses a 60X Carbon Twist Face, which is designed to maintain ball speed and improve consistency when impact occurs away from the center. TaylorMade says the face technology can help shots struck toward the heel or toe stay more online, potentially reducing dispersion.

Another important feature is the four-position Trajectory Adjustment System (TAS). The standard Qi4D uses two 9-gram weights and two 4-gram weights. Their positions can be changed to influence launch, spin, and shot shape.

Aerodynamic Head Design

Aerodynamics play a major role in modern driver development. The Qi4D head has been shaped to reduce drag as the club moves through the swing.

TaylorMade says hundreds of simulations were used in developing the Qi4D head shape. The objective was to create a head that helps golfers swing faster while retaining stability and forgiveness.

For golfers, aerodynamic design can be especially relevant when trying to increase clubhead speed. However, actual results depend on the individual golfer’s swing, strike quality, shaft, and fitting. A driver that works well for one player may not produce the same results for another.

60X Carbon Twist Face Technology

The face is another major part of the Qi4D design. TaylorMade uses its 60X Carbon Twist Face technology to reduce weight while supporting speed and consistency.

The redesigned face also incorporates an improved roll radius. TaylorMade says this helps tighten spin-rate differences between impacts made at different vertical positions on the face. In practical terms, the objective is to make high and low face strikes behave more consistently.

This technology is particularly relevant because amateur golfers rarely strike every drive perfectly. Small differences in impact location can influence launch, spin, ball speed, and direction.

Adjustable TAS Weight System

The Qi4D Driver has four movable TAS weights, giving golfers multiple ways to change the club’s characteristics.

According to TaylorMade, placing the two heavier weights toward the front can promote lower spin and increased distance. Moving the heavier weights toward the back can increase forgiveness and tighten dispersion. Placing the heavier weights toward the toe can create a slight fade bias, while positioning them toward the heel can produce a slight draw bias.

This makes the Qi4D different from a driver with a fixed weighting system. Golfers can experiment with different configurations rather than being limited to the club’s original setup.

Loft and Adjustability

The Qi4D Driver also includes a 4-degree loft sleeve. This provides another way to adjust loft, lie, and face angle to help optimize ball flight.

The standard model is offered in 8°, 9°, 10.5°, and 12° loft configurations, although availability can vary depending on hand and configuration. TaylorMade lists 9° and 10.5° options for both right- and left-handed golfers, while some other lofts are offered only for right-handed configurations.

Choosing loft should not simply be based on the number printed on the club. Swing speed, attack angle, delivery, launch, and spin should all be considered when selecting the appropriate configuration.

Qi4D Driver Specifications

The standard Qi4D Driver has a 460cc head volume and a listed stock length of 45.75 inches. TaylorMade lists a lie-angle range of 56°–60° and a D4 swing weight for the standard configuration.

Here is a simplified specification overview:

SpecificationQi4D Driver

The exact configuration can change depending on the selected shaft, grip, loft, and customization options.

Qi4D Driver Shaft Options

Shaft selection is an important part of getting the most from any modern driver. TaylorMade offers several Mitsubishi REAX shaft options with the Qi4D.

The available stock shaft families include REAX 50 High Rotation Red, REAX 50 Mid Rotation Blue, and REAX 60 Low Rotation White. The options are designed around different swing characteristics and rotation profiles.

The right shaft depends on the golfer rather than simply being determined by handicap. Flex, weight, torque, launch characteristics, and swing delivery can all influence performance.

For this reason, golfers who are considering a Qi4D Driver should ideally test different shaft configurations before making a final purchase.

Qi4D vs Qi4D LS vs Qi4D Max

TaylorMade offers multiple versions of the Qi4D platform. The standard Qi4D is designed as a balanced option, while the LS version emphasizes lower spin.

The Qi4D LS has an ultra-low-spin profile and a more compact head shape, whereas the standard Qi4D provides mid-low spin and a modern 460cc head. The Qi4D Max is designed around a higher launch and mid-spin profile with an emphasis on forgiveness. The Max Lite version is intended to provide a lighter configuration with a high-launch profile.

This means golfers should not automatically assume that the most expensive or lowest-spin model will produce the longest shots. Launch and spin need to match the individual swing.

Who Is the Qi4D Driver For?

The standard Qi4D Driver can be considered by golfers who want a modern driver with significant adjustability but do not necessarily need the extreme low-spin characteristics of an LS model.

It may appeal to players who want to experiment with weight positioning, loft adjustments, and different shaft profiles. The 460cc head also provides the size commonly associated with modern driver designs.

However, beginners should focus on fitting and consistency rather than choosing a club simply because it has advanced technology. A properly fitted driver can be more useful than a technically sophisticated driver that does not match the player’s swing.

Is the Qi4D Driver Adjustable?

Yes. Adjustability is one of the central features of the Qi4D Driver.

The four TAS weights can be repositioned to influence the club’s launch, spin, forgiveness, and shot bias. The loft sleeve provides another layer of adjustment for loft, lie, and face angle.

Because these changes can affect ball flight, golfers should make adjustments gradually and test each configuration. Launch-monitor data can make this process easier by showing changes in ball speed, launch angle, spin, carry distance, and dispersion.

Qi4D Driver Price

TaylorMade’s U.S. product page lists the Qi4D Driver at $649.99 at the time of the current product listing. Prices can vary by market, shaft configuration, customization, promotions, and retailer availability.

Before purchasing, golfers should compare the standard configuration with custom options and consider whether a professional fitting could improve the final setup.

Final Thoughts on the Qi4D Driver

The Qi4D Driver combines several of TaylorMade’s latest driver technologies into a highly adjustable 460cc design. Its aerodynamic head, 60X Carbon Twist Face, improved roll radius, Speed Pocket, four TAS weights, and adjustable loft sleeve are designed to address speed, distance, forgiveness, and fitting flexibility.

The biggest advantage of the Qi4D is its ability to be configured for different ball-flight preferences. Weight placement can be used to influence spin and shot shape, while loft and shaft selection provide additional fitting possibilities.

Ultimately, the best Qi4D setup depends on the individual golfer. Swing speed, impact location, launch angle, spin rate, shaft profile, and desired ball flight all matter. Testing the club with a qualified fitter and comparing launch-monitor results can help determine whether the standard Qi4D, Qi4D LS, Qi4D Max, or another configuration better matches a player’s game.
